Grant to Improve Quality of Life in Michigan Communities in Michigan (USA)
GrantID: 75004
Grant Funding Amount Low: $250
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $2,500
Summary
To apply, your group must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. A special condition: you’ll need a project sponsor who is an employee of the sponsoring corporation. That sponsor helps ensure the project aligns with the evaluation criteria.
Funding may be used for programs that address one or more of the following themes: workforce readiness, career and education support especially in STEM or leadership, neighborhood improvement, inclusion and diversity, environmental sustainability, and innovation in technology or transportation. Funds are not meant for operating budgets, debt already incurred, basic municipal or school services, religious sectarian programs, or individual scholarships.
Grants are awarded at three points during the year; there are quarterly submission deadlines. You need to submit proposals by the due dates in early February, early June, and early October. Decisions are generally communicated about four weeks after each deadline.
Grant amounts are modest — projects may request up to a certain fixed limit (for many applicants that’s around a few thousand dollars). There is a fixed annual pool of funds from which these grants are distributed.
One benefit of this grant is its relatively straightforward application process, provided your organization meets the eligibility criteria. It also encourages local engagement, collaboration, and measurable impact. If your project fits into the themes above, is based in the target county, and can secure the sponsor requirement, this could be a strong opportunity.
Organizations and individuals based in Michigan who are engaged in Community Development & Services may be eligible to apply for this funding opportunity. To discover more grants that align with your mission and objectives, visit The Grant Portal and explore listings using the Search Grant tool.
