Grant Support for Benefiting Women and Children, Seniors or Youth in Michigan (USA)
GrantID: 75005
Grant Funding Amount Low: $1,000
Deadline: Ongoing
Grant Amount High: $15,000
Summary
This grant opportunity is available to nonprofit organizations (501(c)(3)), local units of government, and some religious institutions. Individuals are not eligible. The funding is meant for program or project‑based work — things that benefit the community.
Supports projects: for example, those supporting women and children, programs for seniors, youth‑led or youth‑oriented work, and summer recreation or enrichment for children. Because your project may touch one of these focus areas, through a single application you could be considered by one or more of these grants.
Grant sizes vary depending on the project type. Typical awards are somewhere between $1,000 up to about $15,000 for some of these general grants. Smaller funding (e.g. in the $2,000‑$6,000 range) is common for youth program committees; other committees for broader community work may offer toward the top end.
The funds are intended for projects that enhance or preserve quality of life, fill gaps in services, improve collaboration, and leverage other resources (financial or community) rather than covering ongoing organizational operations or basic municipal services. Projects with new, well‑defined community impact tend to be favored, especially when you can show measurable benefit, a clear timeline, and a good budget.
Applications are due three times per year (Feb. 1, June 1, and Oct. 1). Before submitting, applicants must contact the provider to make sure the proposed project is eligible, and to receive a grant number (this is required on the application).
This grant may be available to individuals and organizations in Michigan that are actively involved in Community Development & Services. To locate more funding opportunities in your field, visit The Grant Portal and search by interest area using the Search Grant tool.
